Version 5.0 of this package was put together by Phil Brooke , from sources obtained from: ftp://ftp.websimulations.com/pub/download/acm-5.0.tar.gz The upstream source tarball was repackaged to remove a single bogus entry that caused problems with the packaging tools. libgdbmg1-dev is needed for a clean compile from source to avoid a problem with sdbm. Re: bug 143297: There is at least one report of acm not working properly on 16-bit displays. However, it does seem to work on many. If you have problems running acm on a particular colour depth, try using the `-nosplash' switch (added by Debian maintainer), then try it on other colour depths. Then add your experiences to this bug report so it can be fixed. Thanks! Also added by the Debian maintainer: a -dis-silent switch: this stops acm from sending out the DIS update packets. If you want to see other people, then you need to share the same -dis-exercise number and make sure that your packets get to each other.
