fountain-mode (3.5.1-1) unstable; urgency=medium

    Fountain Mode v3.0.0 dropped support for exporting to TeX (and thus PDF
    and print).  To restore the ability to export to PDF and print, one of
    the following applications is required:

        Afterwriting -- Written in JavaScript, it is the most well
        established Fountain script to PDF exportation tool.

        Wrap -- Written in Go, it features support for non-English languages,
        and can also export to HTML.

        Screenplain -- Written in Python, it supports export to FDX (Final
        Draft file format) and HTML.

        Textplay -- Written in Ruby, it supports export to HTML, XML, and
        FDX.

    An interesting consequence of choosing a tool that can export to HTML is
    that this HTML can then be converted to ePub, thus enabling the use of
    common eInk devices such as Kobos and Kindles.  At this time, there is
    not yet a user-friendly solution for embedding absolute page numbers into
    the reflowable (HTML or ePub) script.

    Unfortunately none of these tools have yet been packaged for Debian, so a
    "works out of the box" solution is not yet possible.
    /usr/share/doc/elpa-fountain-mode/README.md contains links to the
    homepages of Afterwriting, Wrap, Screenplain, and Textplay, and manual
    installation instructions for each of these tools are found at each of
    their respective sites.  Given its multi-language support, Wrap appears
    to be the best fit for Debian, and I plan to package one of these tools
    during the Bookworm development cycle; however, manual user action will be
    required in the interim.
