ipadic for Debian ----------------------------- ipadic is a dictionary for ChaSen which performs the morphological analysis of Japanese texts. Although the upstream dictionary comes in EUC-JP, it has been converted to use UTF-8 for the modern Debian system. This package can coexist with naist-jdic and naist-jdic-utf8. Since naist-jdic-utf8 is based on ipadic with some updated contents, naist-jdic-utf8 has the precedence over ipadic for the update-alternatives system. ipadic still has good reasons to exist since it has a better data consistency. You can switch default dictionary to ipadic in UTF-8 mode by: $ sudo update-alternatives --config chasenrc You can also force resource file to use ipadic in UTF-8 mode. $ chasen -r /usr/share/chasen/ipadic.rc ... NOTE: This package was originally uploaded to the non-free area by the previous maintainer after initially receiving few negative responses at debian-legal without any meaningful discussion. After careful review, the new maintainer posted this package should be treated as DFSG compliant to the debian-legal. http://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2011/09/msg00010.html Since there were no objection, this is uploaded to the main area. -- Osamu Aoki , Sat, 22 Oct 2011 04:55:03 +0000
