mrtg (2.17.8+git20211022.f52e91e-1) unstable; urgency=medium Initially I would like to say thank you to Tobias Oetiker, the MRTG author. Tobias worked over the source code and accepted several pull requests from me around one month. The MRTG Project also received patches from this package. This revision comes with several relevant changes: - MRTG no longer uses cron to start. From now MRTG will start in Debian via systemd/init.d scripts. - Now, MRTG runs over the new 'mrtg' user/group instead of 'root'. - The --fhs option is being used to put all needed files in the right places in the system. All patches that were changing directly the paths in the source code were removed and, consequently, the original MRTG is available to users that like to run it in a local directory (e.g. in a home dir). - The configuration file was moved to /etc/mrtg/ directory. The main changes from the new upstream version (future 2.17.9, not released yet) can be viewed below: - The --fhs option was updated from 2.3 to 3.0 version. - From now MRTG will create all paths required by --fhs option, like /run/mrtg/, when needed. Please, read /usr/share/doc/mrtg/README.Debian for more details. -- Joao Eriberto Mota Filho Mon, 25 Oct 2021 22:01:37 -0300
