Nice Editor (NE) for Debian ---------------------------- Changing key bindings --------------------- If you want to change the default key bindings, you need to find out the hexcode of the key combination you want to use. The showkey(1) program included in the console-tools or kbd package may help you with that task; beware that it generally works only at the console. See the "Key bindings" section in the ne manual and the example file default.keys.gz in the examples/ subdirectory for more information. Possible terminfo problems -------------------------- The nice editor is rather picky about correct terminfo files and may trigger bugs in them that go unnoticed in other programs. If you encounter misbehavior of some keys, e.g. the backspace key deleting forwards instead of backwards, try changing your terminal or/and your TERM variable. If that fixes the problem, please submit a bug against the package that ships the incorrect terminfo file (in most cases that will be ncurses-base or ncurses-term). -- Sven Joachim , Fri, 25 Sep 2009 18:26:40 +0200
