puredata (0.46.6-1) unstable; urgency=medium Starting with this version, JACK is no longer automatically started by Pd. Since automatically starting JACK (in case it was not already running) effectively prevented the user from being able to quit Pd unless JACK was manually killed as well, the Pd binary shipped with Debian now no longer attempts to autostart the audio server (unlike the upstream binaries). In case you want to use the JACK backend of Pd, make sure that JACK is running before you start Pd. -- IOhannes m zmölnig (Debian/GNU) Tue, 28 Apr 2015 10:10:51 +0200
