Some peculiarities in the Debian package of s5 The S5 files are installed into the /usr/share/s5/ directory tree, with the blank template unzipped into /usr/share/s5/s5-blank/ All text files are converted to Unix-style line endings, removing the CR character at the end. The s5 package also installs the s5 tool, a shell script written by Peter Pentchev to make it easier to create new S5 presentations and update them with new S5 versions. For more information, please see the s5 manual page and keep in mind that all questions and problems with this tool should be sent to Peter Pentchev, the s5 tool author and NOT to Eric Meyer, the author of S5 itself. The ui/i18n/ template is not installed because its pretty.css file is under a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 2.0 license, which is not considered a free license by the Debian community. You may find more templates in the python-docutils package - the /usr/share/pyshared/docutils/writers/s5_html/themes/ directory contains several subdirectories with different templates. However, those subdirectories cannot at present be managed by the s5 tool, since they only contain the files that differ from the default template, and not a whole template tree. -- Peter Pentchev Thu, 10 Jul 2008 15:38:58 +0300
