# About Upstream

There are two related upstream repositories:

1. https://github.com/altercation/solarized
   It contains the main specification of the colors, and several subprojects,
   including plugins for different editors, like the vim color scheme.
2. https://github.com/altercation/vim-colors-solarized
   It contains only the solarized vim color scheme.

Originally, authors suggested that they will remain in sync.

There is also lots of forks with different levels of patches.
This package follows the initial upstream, and may add patches directly in the
future here.

By Dec 3rd, 2020, the only difference between them is that (1) has some extra
commits fixing formatting, typos, and one line content, all at the main README.
Based on this, using (2) seems more reasonable.
