xdvik-ja: pxdvi in Debian ---------------------------- The xdvik-ja package provides pxdvi, the xdvik with Japanese pTeX support. After installing this package, the xdvi command will be under the control of the alternatives system and pxdvi-raw will be executed as xdvi. This version (>= 22.87+j1.42), pxdvi uses "config.xdvi" as a fontmap settings (We don't use /etc/texmf/xdvi/pxdvi anymore). The "config.xdvi" located as follows: /etc/texmf/dvips/xdvi/config.xdvi This file loads the "kanjix.map" generated by "kanji-config-updmap-{user,sys}". Thus, the same fonts are used for display in pxdvi and for PDFs generated by dvipfmx. We expect this behavior to be desirable for many users. If you want to use a different font for pxdvi display and dvipdfmx PDF output, specify pxdviUse with the updmap-{user, sys} command as follows: pxdviUse updmap-user --setoption pxdviUse=true After specifying pxdviUse=true, you can create a separate configuration file for pxdvi by using kanji-config-updmap-{user,sys}. Also, if you have configured not to embed fonts, pxdvi will use fontconfig to find the virtual fonts Ryumin-Light, GothicBBB-Medium. Please check your settings.
