NIS client for Debian --------------------- The ypbind-mt is a multi-threaded implementation of the NIS (formerly Yellow Pages) client. The full NIS configuration of servers and clients is documented in the `nis' package howto, and it is quite articulated. Basically, you need to provide the NIS network domain name in the /etc/defaultdomain file and at least a NIS server name/address in /etc/yp.conf, if the broadcast mode is not enabled for rpcbind on the server (which is the default mode of operation). Additional arguments for ypbind can be passed within a /etc/default/nis file by setting a YPBINDARGS environment variable if needed, which is preferred to overriding its systemd service unit file.
