ptex-jtex for Debian ---------------------- ASCII jTeX is Japanese TeX, designed by ASCII corporation. [Note] Since 1.7+1-12, you need to add option "-kanji=euc" to ajtex/ajlatex, like "ajlatex -kanji=euc foo.tex" under the condition that foo.tex is of EUC encoding. If foo.tex is of JIS encoding, you could run ajtex/ajlatex like "ajlatex -kanji=jis foo.tex". Other encodings would not work. In this package, 'jtex' and 'jlatex' are renamed as 'ajtex' and 'ajlatex', respectively because the present ASCII japanese TeX uses 'ptex' and 'platex' generally and also because 'jtex' and 'jlatex' are commonly used for NTT japanese TeX. And these programs are compiled with a recent ptex, which is included in texlive-binaries package. Note ajlatex is of latex209 version. Technical Issue: - forDebian.patch to remove unnecessary temporary files (*.sjis). - instman.sh do not use dh_installmanpages, this will install unnecessary man pages!!! (obsolete; dh_installman worked fine now!) TODO: - place plain and latex macros in separate directories? - amsajtex is necessary? Obsolete: these are not supported nor necessary now. If ajtex/ajlatex would not work, please try "ptexjtexconfig addpath". Before removing this package, you should do "ptexjtexconfig rempath". -- Atsuhito KOHDA , Tue, 7 Nov 2000 15:07:50 +0900
