How to use the bitcoin.conf file:

1. Copy /usr/share/doc/bitcoin-knots-gui/examples/bitcoin.conf in your datadir directory (usually ~/.bitcoin).
2. Customise the settings as you wish.
3. Restart bitcoin-qt.

Optionnally you can supply a bitcoin conf file with "bitcoin-qt -conf=<dir>".
