ckermit (416~beta12-5) unstable; urgency=high The default permissions have changed such that a remote kermit can no longer turn around a connection and control a local kermit. Furthermore, the default settings no longer permits overwriting a local file. Both address security vulnerabilities. For further information, including information on restoring previous defaults, see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1123025 -- John Goerzen Mon, 15 Dec 2025 19:11:21 -0600 ckermit (416~beta12-4) unstable; urgency=high The default file transfer mode was changed from upstreams default of AUTO to MANUAL in this release. This is a way to help prevent unintended corruption of text files sent between platforms. Most people will not notice the change. Note that the change only applies to the sending Kermit. In rare cases, people may have relied on the old behavior. It can be easily restored. Please see further notes in README.Debian and the detailed discussion at https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1121901 for more. -- John Goerzen Thu, 04 Dec 2025 05:30:44 -0600 ckermit (416~beta12-1) unstable; urgency=medium Please note: the SSL support in ckermit is dated and is unlikely to be useful in real-world scenarios and will be disabled in future releases. -- John Goerzen Thu, 23 Oct 2025 08:24:57 -0500
