GMTSAR for Debian ----------------- On Debian systems the GMTSAR sowtware is split into four packages: * gmtsar-core: provides the main C/C++ executable programs * gmtsar-data: provides the common data needed by gtsar-core and gmtsar-scripts * gmtsar-scripts: provide a long list of utility scripts mostly writter in csh * gmtsar: is a metapackage that allows users to preform a full installation of the GMTSAR software in a simple way External programs and libraries, like snaphu and epr-api, that are normally bundled in the upstream GMTSAR distribution, are not provided by the Debian gmtsar* packages. They are in any case available as separate Debian packages (please note that snaphu is in the non-free archive). Differently from the standard installation of GMTSAR, in Debian the scripts provided by the gmtsar-scripts package are not installed in the /usr/bin folder, rather they are installed into the /usr/share/gmtsar/scripts folder. Users that want to use the GMTSAR scripts shall configure the executable search path as follows: $ export PATH=${PATH}:/usr/share/gmtsar/scripts or equivalent command compatible with the shell used. Please also note that the SW is configured to look for the "orbits" directory in the user's home folder in the following path: ~/.gmtsar/orbits -- Antonio Valentino Sat, 25 May 2024 15:43:31 +000
