html5lib (1.2-5) unstable; urgency=medium * Team upload. * d/patches: add 0005-Replace-pkg_resources-usage.patch, adapted from the upstream pull request. setuptools 82 removed pkg_resources, so the unconditional import at the top of setup.py made the package fail to build from source at the clean step (Closes: #1147391). * d/control: build-depend on python3-packaging, which the test suite now uses in place of pkg_resources. * d/tests/control: swap python3-pkg-resources for python3-packaging. src:setuptools no longer builds the python3-pkg-resources binary, and its last version is uninstallable alongside python3-setuptools (>= 84). * d/copyright, d/upstream/metadata, d/README.source: refer to the html5lib-modern fork, which this package has tracked since 1.2. * d/control: build-depend on pybuild-plugin-pyproject so the PEP 517 backend declared in pyproject.toml is actually used, replacing the installed html5lib_modern-1.2.egg-info with a .dist-info directory. * d/control: bump debhelper-compat to 14. dh_gencontrol now applies relationship substvars itself, so drop ${misc:Depends} and ${python3:Depends}; declare dh-sequence-single-binary explicitly, as compat 14 warns about its implicit activation. * d/patches: extend 0001-devendor-webencodings.patch to exclude html5lib.contrib from the built package. Nothing has referenced it since the import was redirected to the system python3-webencodings, so the binary no longer ships 31 kB of dead vendored code. * d/patches: replace the Python 3.14 ResourceWarning suppression with upstream's fix for the leak behind it. test_python_issue_20007_b never closed the addinfourl it wrapped; the patch it replaces ignored ResourceWarning for every tokenizer test instead. Neither is needed to build against pytest 9.1 and Python 3.14 any more, verified by building with both removed, but the leak is real so keep the narrow fix. * d/patches: restore the html5lib distribution name. Since 1.2-1 the package installed html5lib_modern-1.2.egg-info, so importlib.metadata.version("html5lib") raised PackageNotFoundError where 1.1-6 answered it, and dh_python3 could not resolve a "Requires-Dist: html5lib" to python3-html5lib -- it drops such a dependency silently, with only a log.info line in the build log. * d/python3-html5lib.pydist: new.
