minetest-server for Debian ========================== Since version 0.4.10+repack-3 Debian supports running multiple Minetest servers. An unprivileged system-wide user, Debian-minetest, controls the server. * The home directory of this user is /var/games/minetest-server. * All log files are written to /var/log/minetest. * The default server configuration is located at /etc/minetest/minetest.conf. systemd (default init system) ============================= Debian's Minetest server supports template units. You can start multiple servers by specifying the name of your configuration files on the command-line. # This command will start the server with the default configuration, # /etc/minetest/minetest.conf systemctl start minetest-server@minetest.service # For running a second PvP server, you can create another configuration # file /etc/minetest/pvp.conf and then start the server with systemctl start minetest-server@pvp.service The new log file will then be written to /var/log/minetest/pvp.log. SysV ==== You can start the server with default minetest.conf configuration by using the service command. service minetest-server start and stop it with service minetest-server stop To disable the init script use the facilities provided by your init system. For instance, under sysvinit, use update-rc.d minetest-server disable or under systemd, use systemctl disable minetest-server@minetest.service
