Differences from the upstream npm package ----------------------------------------- * min/ and dev/ are the AMD copy of the editor: upstream's release script copies both out of monaco-editor-core, which Debian does not build (see the engine's README.Debian), so debian/build-amd.cjs builds them here from the ES modules -- min/ minified, dev/ readable, as in the npm package, because consumers patch the readable TypeScript worker by name (zotero does). There is no min-maps/, because the build makes no source maps. No translations are built, so the *.nls.js modules of those trees are empty and the editor shows its own English strings. * The ES module tree is assembled by Debian's build rather than by the release script, so twenty of the 1161 files differ from the npm release: the eight language plugin bundles (the four plugins' Mode and worker), which come out larger here because vscode-languageserver-types ships only a UMD build in Debian and the ES module build recovered from it cannot be tree shaken; the eleven that the engine package's own build also produces differently from its npm release (see its README.Debian); and ts.worker.js, which carries this package's TypeScript. * src/language/typescript/lib/ is generated during the build from Debian's TypeScript rather than the release upstream pins (5.0.2), so the TypeScript worker is that version. * package.json records the version of the packaged monaco-editor-core, its commit and vscode's, as upstream's release script does. * codicon.ttf comes from fonts-codicons, which rebuilds it from upstream's SVG, rather than from the engine package. The font is /usr/share/fonts/truetype/codicons/codicon.ttf; the copy under /usr/share/fonts-codicons/ that the package Description mentions is a symlink to it.
