mplayer (2:1.5+svn38674-5) unstable; urgency=medium

  Vdpau disabled at build time: 

  Please be aware that vdpau is disabled at build time and so it can't be used
  as video output with mplayer; this is to workaround an issue with mplayer
  and ffmpeg 8.
  This situation is temporary but it will persist until the issue is fixed
  upstream. The issue is tracked at

  Removal of mplayer-gui (gmplayer) package:

  2:1.5.+svn38674-5 is the last Debian version to include mplayer-gui package:
  gtk2 is being removed from Debian and soon it will be no longer possible
  to build the mplayer-gui variant (also known as gmplayer).
  The only way forward to keep (or reintroduce) mplayer-gui in Debian is to
  port gmplayer to gtk3; there was some work on the gui upstream recently
  but the port didn't happen so far. If you care about gmplayer you can send

  As an alternative to gmplayer, smplayer (a qt-based gui) can be used as
  a frontend for mplayer and of course, mplayer itself can be invoked from the
  command line.
