Since December 2013, Microsoft has discontinued the Skype API
For this reason, the Skype and Skype DBus protocol plugins have been discontinued.
Instead, use the skypeweb plugin to continue using Skype with a Libpurple-based instant messaging client.
If you have activated two-factor authentication (2FA), you need to set an application password from your Microsoft account and check Use alternative login method in the Advanced tab in account settings of your instant messaging app.
