By default the daemon starts with the permissions of user "nobody" and group
"nogroup". You need(!) to adapt these users to make sure it has access to the
appropriate devices.

- In case of serial devices probably group "dialout" is correct.
- In case you use the system call ioperm() on Intel hardware, the daemon
  needs root permissions.
